An Our Every First Market Day:
A Cold and Dark Start
As the alarm clock blared at 6 am, we groggily rose from our warm beds, preparing ourselves for the day ahead. It was our first market day, and despite the early hour and chilly temperature of 6.4 degrees, we were filled with excitement and anticipation. The thought of showcasing our homemade woodwork products, worm castings, worm extract, live worms, homemade candles, chook feeders, and more to the world filled us with a sense of pride and nervousness.
Setting Up for Success
By 7 am, we were ready to go. The market was still shrouded in darkness, with only a few flickering lights illuminating the area. We joined the other vendors, each with their own unique offerings, in setting up our stall. The cold air nipped at our fingers as we carefully arranged our products, making sure they were displayed in the most appealing way possible.
Despite the early hour and the biting cold, there was an undeniable sense of camaraderie among the vendors. They offered and exchanged friendly greetings and shared stories of previous market days, offering each other words of encouragement and advice. It was a supportive community, united by our shared passion for creating and selling our own unique products.
Hopes and Dreams
Deep down, we secretly hoped for a complete sell-out. We believed in the quality of our products, crafted with love and care, and we couldn't help but think that they were the best in the world. However, we also knew that reality doesn't always align with our dreams. The market was a place of unpredictability, where success and disappointment often walked hand in hand.
Nevertheless, we were determined to give it our all. We had spent countless hours perfecting our woodwork creations, nurturing our worms to produce the finest castings and extract, and crafting unique candles and chook feeders. We had poured our hearts and souls into these products, and we were eager to share them with the world.
